Why do fools fall in love with a stock?

Here’s the painful or achy breaky heart truth:
Truthfully, a stock doesn’t care about you and doesn't know you own it.
It doesn’t cry when you sell or swoon when you buy it.
It doesn't expect promises, Champagne or candles to keep.

But too many investors demand undying loyalty from their stocks.
They want a stock to whisper sweet nothings about how skilled, how right, or how smart they are for including that company in their investing life.
